WHAT IS A PRACTICA?
Práctica is a term for an informal event where Argentine tango is danced. It is similar to a Milonga. However while a Milonga is rather a formal event where dancers seriously dance, on a Práctica dancers focus on practicing the dance.
The practica is an environment for experimentation, for trying out new things that have not been perfected enough for use in the milonga. The practica is the environment for learning, to prepare the tanguero for the milonga.
A practica is your opportunity to improve, develop and integrate what you have been learning at your private lessons, group lessons. Peer interactions and the opportunity to ask questions are encouraged and supported.
